Ipl 2025 Player Retention Rules. As per the new rule set by ipl, each franchise can retain up to 6 players, including 1 uncapped indian player. Till ipl 2024, franchises had to seek a replacement for an injured player before their seventh match of the season.

Each franchise can retain six players from their 2024 squad. The 6 retentions / rtm’s can have a maximum of 5 capped players (indian & overseas) and a maximum of 2.
